Registration takes less than 2 minutes. Before you start, you’ll need:
- Your green ID Book or SA Smart ID Card
- A valid email address
- Your cell number
Becoming a Secure Citizen will cost you nothing – but it could save you a lot of time, cost and frustration. Your identity is your birth right – we’ve partnered with South Africa’s leading fraud prevention authority, the SAFPS (Southern African Fraud Prevention Services), which enables us to access, verify, claim and protect your identity through the South African Department of Home Affairs (DHA).
As you’d expect, we’re fully POPIA-compliant. We’re honoured to act as the custodians of your data, but ownership will always rest with you.

We use multi-modal biometrics (voice, fingerprint and facial recognition) to verify that each individual is who they claim to be. These unique personal attributes cannot be faked or stolen.
